Oktoberfest is a time-honored tradition that began in Europe in 1810. And though the times have changed, our love of Oktoberfest certainly hasn’t.
Oktoberfest may be a few months away, but we’re already getting excited about this year’s local event in Nashville. Our upcoming celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever.
So what should you expect from this year’s festivities? Here’s a quick rundown of everything you’ll need to know before heading to Nashville Oktoberfest this year.
Who to Bring
We’re happy to note that Nashville Oktoberfest is an all-ages event, so feel free to bring the whole family for a day of fun.
Your little ones are sure to love the kid-oriented activities like performances by musicians and storytellers, face painting, and a whole area of inflatable play places.
Of course, your little ones aren’t the only ones who can get in on the fun. Your furry, four-legged friends can join in, too. Just be sure to bring plenty of pet bags and a leash or harness for your dog.
A quick heads-up for our VIP guests — while we’re happy to accommodate your pup, please note that they sadly won’t be able to get into VIP areas with you, so plan accordingly.
Oktoberfest is going to be a massive event this year, so make sure to get to the festival grounds early.
If you haven’t done so already, be sure to take a look at our festival map which includes a layout as well as parking information.
Parking will be free. However, it’s on a first-come-first-served basis, so the earlier you arrive, the more likely you are to get a great spot.
What to Do
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever!
It all kicks off on Thursday, October 10th with our opening ceremonies. Join us from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM for an evening of music and, of course, delicious German beer.
Once the work week finishes, the real fun begins.
Over the course of the next three days, you can look forward to such awesome activities as a pup parade, local vendors, our annual parade, and more.
Food and Beverages
What’s an Oktoberfest celebration without a ton of great German food and beverages?
You can expect all of the Oktoberfest food classics from gargantuan pretzels to traditional German fares like bratwurst and strudel.
Don’t forget to grab a stein of beer, too. Our guests who are 21 and over can sample some of the world’s most exquisite beer. Whether you prefer your beer to have a lighter touch or a richer, heavier taste, there’s something for every beer-lover to enjoy.
Please remember to drink responsibly. If you plan on attending the event, we recommend either bringing a designated driver or calling an Uber to take you to and from the event.
