NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With more than 100,00 people expected in downtown Nashville for Oktoberfest, Saturday’s events kicked off with a race.A 5K was held in Germantown. The race started at 8 a.m. Saturday with other festivities following at 10 a.m.Racers said it was a fun way for them to kick-off Oktoberfest before hitting the free event later in the day.Many men at the race could even be found wearing traditional German lederhosen.The Fast Fix 8 road closures plus Oktoberfest have caused some traffic delays. Officials have asked drivers to plan ahead when it comes to traveling to their weekend festivities.
